Nancy’s question is a good one for all you planners:
When will the online 2013 Festival guide be available?
Here are the important dates to get on your calendar:
- A complete PDF, ready to print at home, AND our online tool with a customizable schedule will be online the first week of May.
- You can swing by our offices in Seattle Center to pick up a copy, and look for other distribution locations (like libraries) on our website, beginning May 15.
- The printed souvenir Festival guide will be available as an insert in home editions of the Seattle Times on Thursday, May 23.

I am coming to Seattle on vacation in May…what dates exactly are the festival on?? Thank you!
The Festival is Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-27. You can read more about it at nwfolklife.org/festival. Hope you can make it!
I plan on attending and covering the whole 4-day event as a photojournalist. Do I need a ‘press’ pass?
This is the largest such free event of its type in the world, has over 2 dozen stages, hundreds of performances, has been going 43 years, and “There’s nothing else like it in the whole damn country!” -Geoffrey Castle-
Come early. On Saturday during the NW Folklife Festival, there were reportedly 400,000 attendees.
Hi Amicus,
Please contact me at marketing@nwfolklife.org and we can discuss being on site as a photojournalist. Thanks for your interest!
