Raisin' a Ruckus: New Old-Time Music

Organized by Charmaine Slaven, this show was created to showcase some of the great Southern-style Old-time music bands coming out of the Pacific Northwest these days. Since the early settlers, Washington and Oregon have been thriving centers of old-time music. Come hear the latest and greatest in this genre, as bands reinterpret the traditions of old-time for the concert stages of today.

Opening the show with a bang is Ebenezer, a group of young musicians arising out of Portland's hot-bed of Old-Time music; Plough, from Vancouver BC, will follow-up with their fetching blend of Old-Time and Bluegrass sounds; next is Bellingham's Happy Valley Sluggers, a group of highly-regarded Old-Time musicians. Seattle's driving stringband, The Tallboys will bring it all home with selections from their new album, "Around the Bend." Don't miss this great line-up that is sure to inspire plenty of spontaneous dancing, whoops and hollers!
