Spicy Cajun & Zydeco Dancing
Sunday, 1:00-2:30 pm
Mural Amphitheatre
Enjoy a hot & spicy taste of the Louisiana Zydeco & Cajun music and dance that has sprouted in Seattle and the Northwest over the past 30 years. If you’ve never danced to this music, come at 1pm on the dot and get a dance lesson from local instructor MaryLee Lykes.
Captain Leroy & the Zydeco Locals put their own twist on lively, danceable two-steps and waltzes (the staple dances of Cajun/Zydeco music). Their tight musical presence and driving beat have thrilled dance crowds for years. The Riptide Ramblers are a three-generation family band led by founder Dave Lang. They play highly danceable Southwest Louisiana Cajun, Zydeco, and Swamp Pop. Dave is the revered and respected godfather of Cajun and Zydeco music in our area. He is a master of the music and mentor to area musicians.
