Ver(A)rt Gallery Exhibit

When Your Work Speaks for Itself, Don’t Interrupt
Youth Perspectives on Working in the Northwest

Join us for a special exhibition of youth art in the Ver(A)rt Gallery in The VERA Project during the 2013 Northwest Folklife Festival.

This exhibit explores working, focusing on how work experience or work goals impact and shape people’s lives, and is in connection with the Festival Cultural Focus, Washington Works.

Topics explored in the art include:
-              what do you want to do when you “grow up”?

-              what do you want to be doing in 10 years?

-              Have you ever had a really good/bad/crazy/weird job?

-              What is it like to work in the Northwest?

-              When you were younger what was your ideal job? How has that changed over the years? How does it compare to what you are doing now?

-              What is work?

You are invited to attend the Ver(A)rt Gallery reception on Monday, May 27 from 6-8:00pm!
