August 17: Moving with Magnets with a Family Dance: Explore the power of magnets through arts, crafts, and even dance! You can create your own magnetic masterpiece by covering metal objects with paint or creating magnetic slime using iron filings. Push and pull with your partner in a family dance with caller Clare Woolgrove!

About Clare and the family dance: A native of the UK, Clare loves to bring the joys of the barn and ceiligh dances of her youth to families of the Pacific northwest.  Get ready to grab a partner and sashay down the hall, or dance along to a good old singing game.  Fun is the priority and two left feet are just fine.  Come on out and dance!

Clare always calls to live music and will today be accompanied by her husband Howard Good on button accordion.

August 18Sounding Board with “James AudioPoet Burchfield: Learn about pitch, echolocation and sounds waves by making your own drums and panpipes, experimenting with beatboxing, and more.

About James “AudioPoet” Burchfield: Known for being a human beatbox, James uses his mouth, lips, tongue, and throat to imitate musical instruments, turntables, and more.
