1001 Nights – Tales of the Mid-East

Friday evening, May 4, & Saturday Day and Evening, May 5, 2018
Come hear 32 storytellers from CA, OR, WA and Canada tell stories from this classic epic with roots reaching back to ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Jewish and Turkish folklore and literature. The overarching frame tale of the epic is certainly relevant today – Scheherazade tells stories for 1001 nights to an angry tyrant in order to save the lives of her fellow country women… and these tales eventually heal the sultan’s insanity, bringing peace to the land.
Adult stories both evenings, & family stories Saturday afternoon.
Friday Evening – Stories and music start at 6:45 PM. Doors open at 6:15 PM on (come for coffee, tea and dessert),
Saturday Afternoon – Stories begin at 1 PM. Doors open for Lunch at 12:30 PM, Dinner is served at 5:30 PM.
Saturday Evening – Stories and dancing start at 6:45 PM.
