From Hiroshima to Hope: Lantern Ceremony on Green Lake

Creation of lanterns and a program to promote peace event in memory of victims of Hiroshima/Nagasaki and all victims of violence and war.
Come sing at the Hiroshima to Hope Lantern Ceremony at Greenlake Park in Seattle on the evening of August 6th, the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. After the formal program from 7-9 PM, paper lanterns are lighted and floated out onto the lake.
John Palmes, Folklife Festival “Harmony Singing Workshop” presenter would like to invite singers and singing groups to come and sing.“I plan on singing with whoever will join me at about 10 PM after the lanterns are floating out on the lake. Please come and sing or lead a song or two.”
