Hypnotizing, haunting, beautiful, and pleasantly eccentric singer.
If you have not heard Moira Smiley before, you are in for a delightful evening! You may have heard her perform as part of the Jayme Stone Folklife Project at SFS on February 24th. Her solo show is not to be missed!
Moira is a Singer and Composer who creates and performs new work for voices. She is a musical polyglot, and vocal shape-shifter and her voice and compositions are heard on feature films, BBC & PBS television programs, NPR, and on more than 60 albums. She accompanies herself with banjo, accordion, piano and percussive movement, and when she’s not leading her own group, Moira Smiley & VOCO, Moira has toured with Indie artist tUnE-yArDs, Irish super-group, Solas, The Lomax Project and Billy Childs Laura Nyro Re-Imagined.
Her album….Unzip the Horizon is simply an astonishing piece of work on every level.
