Saturday Family Concerts: DE CAJóN Project

November 18, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The phrase “de cajón” is a Peruvian expression meaning “without question,”  “for sure,” or even “rain or shine.” And there’s no question—DE CAJóN Project will get you moving! Their bright and animated performances center on the syncopated sounds of the cajón (a Peruvian box drum).

But they’re more than just entertainers; DE CAJóN Project is community based movement dedicated to educating through art about the cultural contributions of people in Peru of African descent. With performances, workshops, residencies, and classes, DE CAJóN Project crosses geographical and cultural boundaries to educate audiences and empower artists of Peruvian and African descent across Peru and the Pacific Northwest.
