Friends of Folklife are Northwest Folklife’s most loyal supporters who keep the magic of Folklife alive with their generous annual contributions. Friends of Folklife enjoy exclusive benefits at the NW Folklife Festival and throughout the year and can choose from a variety of giving levels to support our programs (scroll down for a complete list of benefits).

Friends of Folklife Benefits at the 47th Festival

Current Friends of Folklife at the Folkster Giving Level ($50-$249) will receive an email on May 18, 2018 with information about their benefits, including an electronic voucher to redeem their buttons.

Current Friends of Folklife at the $250+ Giving Levels will receive a paper voucher in the mail the week of the Festival. Parking passes will be included for eligible donors.

Friends of Folklife Headquarters

The Friends of Folklife Headquarters is an exclusive VIP lounge located at the Fisher Terrace and open 10:30 am – 8:00 pm, May 25-28. Alcohol will be served 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. All Friends of Folklife are invited to:

  • Pick up their Friend of Folklife buttons and other benefits
  • Take a break from the crowds, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and have a prime viewing spot of the Festival
  • Leave their bag, coats, and other belongings at our coat check
  • Meet fellow Folklife supporters, board members, and staff

Happy Hours at the Friends of Folklife Headquarters

Make sure to stop by the Friends of Folklife Headquarters during our daily Happy Hours to enjoy our special activities:

  • Friday, 5/25, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Saturday, 5/26, 5:00 – 6:00 pm

Friends of Folklife Giving Levels and Benefits

Our annual giving cycle is June 1st – May 31st. FoF benefits are calculated based on your cumulative giving during this period.

Folkster: $50-$249

  • Festival Guide mailed in mid-May
  • Two Friend of Folklife buttons for admission to the Friends of Folklife Headquarters
  • Happy Hours at the FoF Headquarters

Folk Sustainer: $20+/month (or $240+/year)
All of the above PLUS unique Thank You gift available only to Folk Sustainers. This level requires monthly electronic payments of $20 or more from your bank account or credit/debit card. Giving level benefits are based on your cumulative annual giving.

Stage Manager: $250-$499
All of the above PLUS:

  • One additional Friend of Folklife button
  • Two Hospitality Buttons for admission to the Folklife Festival’s Hospitality VIP access area
  • Invitation for Two to ‘First Look’, our pre-Festival VIP preview and reception
  • Invitation for Two to the Saturday Night Party
  • One NWFL Tote Bag
  • Recognition in the NWFL Annual Report
  • Invitations to parties and multi-cultural events between Festivals

Emcee: $500-$999
All of the above PLUS:

  • NWFL Goody Bag at the Folklife Festival
  • Recognition in the Festival Guide

  Curator: $1,000-$2,499
All of the above PLUS:

  • Northwest Folklife License Plate Frame
  • Behind the Scenes group tour of the Festival led by Artistic or Managing Director
  • NWFL Festival limited edition art poster
  • NWFL’s Annual Report mailed to you in the Fall

Headliner: $2,500-$4,999
All of the above PLUS:

  • Complimentary NWFL T-shirt (needs to be picked up at the Folklife Festival)
  • Complimentary parking during the Folklife Festival

Producer: $5,000-$9,999
All of the above PLUS:

  • Two Additional tickets to ‘First Look’
  • Digital schedule of the Folklife Festival emailed prior to publication
  • Personalized playlist created for you by the Artistic Director

  • Meet the Artist opportunities

Folk Legend: $10,000 and above
All of the above PLUS:

  • Two Additional tickets to ‘First Look’

  • “This stage brought to you by… Your Name” banner on a stage at the Folklife Festival or a NWFL event
