What Does Peace Look Like to You? – Colors of Peace at Seattle Children’s Festival

We’re excited to announce that the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run will be participating in this year’s Seattle Children’s Festival, Saturday, September 21 – Sunday, September 22 at Seattle Center! Join the opening ceremony of Colors of Peace on Saturday at 10 AM in the Seattle Center Armory, then visit the exhibit in Fisher Pavilion, open on both days of the festival! Kids can also do art for peace at the exhibit site! The ceremony includes music and fun for peace, with a special guest appearance by Pastor Patrinell Wright who is coming out of retirement to sing. Other special musical performances are planned, a Peace Walk and Parade of Nations will end the ceremony, joining the Armory Building and the Fisher Pavilion, the two sites of the Seattle Children’s Festival.

Colors is an exhibit of artwork created by kids all around the world when asked ‘what does peace look like to you?‘ The exhibit highlights the United Nations International Day of Peace on September 21st. The Seattle exhibit coincides with the primary exhibit in Rome, Italy which includes over 7,000 works displayed around the Coliseum. Seattle’s exhibit includes 1.000 works from Seattle schools and 200 works on loan from Rome.
