Northwest Tap Connection
11 AM – 12 PM
Northwest Tap Connection dancers train, inspire, and nurture young dancers towards artistic excellence. Their goal is to bring the art of dance to multi-cultural and generational audiences through dance instruction, innovative community partnerships and participation in local festivals, cultural events, and arts in education programs both locally and nationally.
Tloke Nahuake Aztec Dancers
1 PM – 2 PM
Ixtlixochitl Salinas-White Hawk is an Indigenous Artist and Cultural Educator/Consultant. Ixtli’s artistic work and community involvement is an expression of her Nahua-Mexika roots; as she lives and thrives in two worlds. She is often a part of community and environmental efforts to ensure Indigenous identity and natural resources will continue being reality for our children and children’s children.
Anzanga Marimba Ensemble
3 PM – 4 PM
Since its first performance 32 years ago at the Northwest Folklife Festival, Anzanga has toured internationally and has produced 5 recordings. The music is very engaging, fun to listen to and exciting to dance to. The group under the direction of Sheree Seretse, has thrilled many an audience playing at festival, parties, schools and cultural events. Anzanga’s motto is “Come Dance With Us.”
From 11 AM – 4 PM, swing by the Northwest Folklife table for some additional holiday fun! Take home your own guitar pick that you design yourself, or get creative by drawing your own neighborhood the way that you see it.
